WHAT TO BRING:
What to Bring for Sailing:
Sailors should be prepared to spend multiple hours on the water in a wide range of weather conditions. To ensure safety and comfort, athletes must bring appropriate gear each day:
- Clothing: Dress in layers, especially on cooler days. A waterproof jacket, non-cotton base layers (such as synthetic tech tops), and extra dry clothing are highly recommended. Sailors are very likely to get wet during practice.
- Footwear: Close-toed shoes or water shoes are required. Our docks are wooden, and there is a risk of splinters.
- Sun Protection: Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses with a retaining strap, and a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated.
- Snacks: Fueling throughout the day is important. Easy-to-eat snacks such as granola bars, fruit, sandwiches, and sports drinks are excellent choices for quick energy on the water.
