October COVID Update

10/9/20 UPDATE:  As of now, there are no updates from Seattle Parks and Recreation regarding reopening of programs at Mount Baker.  Under normal circumstances, the majority of our on-the-water programs end in early to mid-November due to daylight and weather constraints.  At that point most of our programs would move into indoor conditioning until mid-February in the case of rowing or pick back up again in March in the case of Sailing.  This means our window of opportunity to offer a full day of outdoor programming is closing.  While this does not preclude the possibility of a limited reopening in 2020, at this point we think it is most likely that our next best opportunity to offer broad outdoor programming won’t be until 2021.

We don’t have any details to share at this point regarding reopening, but our focus will be on providing safe opportunities to get back on the water in a way that complies with local regulations and industry best practices.

Once we have a plan in place that has been approved by Seattle Parks and Recreation and Associated Recreation Council, we will move forward with releasing program details and registration information.

Our staff is still responding to customer queries at mount.baker@seattle.gov.  We are doing our best to respond within 2 business days.

Thank you for your interest and support for Mount Baker Rowing and Sailing Center.
