On Sunday, October 30, members of the Mount Baker Junior Crew will compete at the Portland Fall Classic. Not all team members will attend this regatta. The athletes attending will be the entirety of the Varsity Girls and Novice Boys squads, and all Varsity Boys who did not compete at the Head of the Charles. The Novice Girls coaches elected not to attend.
The title is a bit of a misnomer this year as the regatta will be held on Vancouver Lake rather than on the Willamette as it normally has. This is due to the light rail construction over the river in Portland. Like most fall races, this is a head race which will start in the southeast corner of the lake, loop around the island in the north, and finish at the normal sprint course finish line.

The team will be loading the trailer on Saturday, October 29 at 10:30 am, directly after the BAC Pancake Breakfast. We will depart for the race course on Sunday morning at 5:15 am. Our anticipated completion time is approximately 6:00 pm. As always, weather conditions, traffic, or other factors can have an effect on our schedule. We always encourage athletes to keep their parents informed about any updates.
