Many of you have already been using our calendar as a source of information for classes, regattas, and other events. We have tried to make it as easy as possible and we think it has been a big success.
Did you know that it’s possible to subscribe to our calendar? Many calendar applications such as iCalendar or Outlook have the ability to subscribe to Google calendars using either the iCal or XML formats. If you are already using Google Calendar as your primary calendar tool, it is even simpler.
Subscribing to our calendar means that your calendar will be notified of new events and updates without having to check the website, and it will make it easier to find pertinent information from your handheld device. You might even be able to add your own notifications to our events depending on which calendar application you use.
For those of you using Google Calendar, simply click on the “plus” sign on the bottom of the calendar to subscribe. You may need to log in to your Google account to make it official.
For those using iCal, or a program using a similar format, there are online tutorials such as this.
The iCal address is:
https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/e10l14gig8oitr1gjl8g1rlikg%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics
If your calendar application uses XML, here is the address:
https://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/e10l14gig8oitr1gjl8g1rlikg%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic
Because of the wide range of products out there, you may have to do a little research to find the exact steps for your application.
