Coming Up: Spring Crew

Spring Rowing at Mount Baker begins this Wednesday, January 30.  All varsity athletes will begin at 3:45 pm while novice athletes will begin at 4:00 pm.  If you have not yet registered, online links and barcodes are listed below for each squad.  Online registration will be available until Tuesday (tomorrow) night at midnight, thereafter, registration can only be made through the office.  Also listed below are all the relevant paperwork and information items if you have not yet turned them in.

Finally, please note the parent meeting is scheduled for February 6 at 6:00 pm in the upstairs meeting room.  All parents, especially novice parents, are encouraged to attend.  This meeting will cover the competition, travel, costs, expectations, clothing, carpools, volunteer opportunities, etc.  You will also have an opportunity to meet with your child’s coaches directly.

For novices, those returning from summer or fall 2012 (most likely those novice parents getting this email) will sign up for the following:
Novice Boys (returning): 96477
Novice Girls (returning): 96479
Those novices who have no experience whatsoever will sign up for the following classes:
Novice Boys (new): 96476
Novice Girls (new): 96478
For the first several weeks of the spring season, all varsity athletes will practice from 3:45 until 6:15 while all novice athletes will practice from 4:00 until 6:00.  After the first several weeks, the Varsity girls squad will move to 4:15-6:45.  Novice squad times may move as well, though that has yet to be determined.  These specifics will be decided by the parent meeting on February 6.

Code of Conduct (note that the athlete must sign this form as well)
USRowing Waiver (note this is now an online form through USRowing, the instructions for signing up online are attached)
The following forms last longer than the calendar year:
Float test (three years, please contact the office if you need to check on the status of your float test)
Notarized Medical Release (this form must be notarized, but never expires, contact the office if you are unsure about whether you have one on file)
Finally, the Merchandise Order form is not necessary for participation, but please be aware of the order deadline for special order items such as sweatshirts, bags, unisuits, and jackets.  The Parent Letter andRegattas at a Glance are included for your information.
Special note: we can temporarily accept faxes in the event that certain paperwork is keeping athletes from participating, but we need the original within a week.
